If you’re tired of hearing The Top 40 that blasts across your radio daily then slip into Tucson’s Plush lounge where socializing and live music are the name of the game. Practically every night the dimly lit, relaxing and art-filled atmosphere of Plush wafts with the tunes of live local bands as well as musicians from the national and international scene. This is an excellent choice for kicking back and socializing with friends and business acquaintances.

Plush is located at 340 E 6th St and is open Monday through Saturday from 4pm to 2am and on Sunday from 6pm to 2am.

Solar Culture

Alternative music is what you’ll find at the non-profit Solar Culture where artist/owner Steven Eye has combined a trendy artistic atmosphere with eclectic live music coming from bands that specialize in alternative rock and country, reggae, folk, and punk. Tickets are available only during the night of each event and they don’t sell food or drinks so you’re encouraged to bring your own.

Solar Culture is open daily from 12pm to 12am.

The Shelter

What better place to run to during the storms of life than The Shelter. This Tucson treasure was built back in 1961 and is chock full of nostalgic memorabilia from bygone days. This windowless round bar is a great place to park it and unwind while watching background 60s flashback B movies and listening to ageless tunes. Occasionally, a DJ stops by and cuts some retro grooves. Expert bartenders are always present to mix up drinks that take you back to more carefree days.

Duck into The Shelter daily from 3pm to 2am at 4155 E Grant Rd.

The Shanty

Because it’s located close to the University of Arizona, the Shanty is a hot spot for the college crowd, although it also draws an eclectic bunch from across Tucson. The Shanty possesses a comfortable atmosphere and a large patio which is a wonderful place to hang out on warm Arizona nights. This popular nightlife pick also serves a wide selection of mouthwatering food and drinks. By the way, their restrooms are exceptionally clean!
